DELHI: The Delhi Police, in a major development nabbed 37-year-old notorious criminal Javed alias Pawwa while he was being hunted after being accused in Wazirabad area in short exchange of fire. The accused, was being sought in connection with 33 criminal cases, including serious charge of sexual assault.

Following a lead about where Javed was to be found in Wazirabad, the criminal intelligence branch arrested the accused. The police team was supposed to nab him as he rode on a motorcycle and hence an unverified report is that Javed opened fire. Police merely got a chance in the short tiff to pick on and pick him. Live rounds and a pistol were found by the police on him.
Long Criminal History
According to the police Javed has a full fledged long standing past and his arrest came after the Crime Branch received specific information that he was present at Wazirabad. A booby trap was set and when the police team tried to stop him at the motorcycle ride, they allege JAVED opened fire.

Fugitive in a case of sexual assault
Since December 2024, man was on the run for a case of sexual assault filed at Nabi Karim police station. Subsequently the complaint says he had raped a woman in gunpoint. A fellow inmate had been arrested in relation to this case but Javed managed to evade capture till now.

His friend had been arrested a number of times pre this case, Javed merely shifted hides from one to the other till now this operation succeded.
This was widely seen as a significant win for the Delhi Police in rooting out the return visits of repeat offenders and nabbing predators of violence, including sexual assault. His network is being further investigated and other criminal work.
