Bihar politics is being rocked by conflicts within the family of the departed Ram Vilas Paswan, whose legacy is also a source of contention. Less than a month ago, Ram Vilas Paswan’s first wife and mother of Chirag Paswan, Rajkumari Devi, lodged an FIR against her sisters-in-law over family tiff which is now in public domain.
This an incident happened in the midst of Paswan’s ancient house — Shaharbanni Alauli .
Family Dispute Reasons
According to Rajkumari Devi, her sisters-in-law threw her out of the house and denied her her just share in the property.
She claims that the of ex-UPA minister Pashupati Kumar Paras and Ram Chandra Paswan wife locked her out of the house.
Rajkumari Devi says she demands her inheritance and has appealed to Chirag Paswan to intercede in this matter.
Political fallout
Bihar politics has been shaken with Ram Vilas Paswan’s family being in a significant position, this event causing trauma to the political circle.
In a related development, the party of Chirag Paswan — Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) filed a strong protest against the incident alleging Pashupati Kumar Paras had brutally treated Rajkumari Devi.
Highly politicized, the dispute has the potential to become a major issue in the coming Bihar assembly election.
