Residents of Delhi can now apply for the Ayushman Bharat scheme as Health Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh announced. Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY) – the much awaited registration process started today and eligible families in the National capital are progressively being benefitted from benefits.
Integral to the central government flagship scheme of Ayushman Bharat, essentially aims at safeguarding vulnerable households (cash transfers) from unaffordable health expenditure. This National Health Authority (NHA) program provides a health insurance cover of Rs 5 lakh per family in a year for hospitalization at secondary and tertiary tiers.

Minister Singh assured the media via press briefing: “We will now give all eligible Delhi citizens access to quality healthcare,” “Starting with the registration for Ayushman Bharat is a big step in this direction. Inviting eligible families to sign up is what we are requesting all over the place.
It will be implemented through multiple channels including govt health centres and online platforms. In collaboration with NHA, the Delhi Government has established call centres for citizen registration. Beneficiaries should also take the documents in their possession such as Aadhaar card and Ration card when logging an application for eligible categories.

The National Health Authority providing technical back-up and resources so as to make smooth registration Process. The NHA is also in charge of empanelment of both public and private hospitals to render services under the scheme.
“Sync of Ayushman Bharat will be taken care by Delhi Government,” said a statement here from the NHA spokespersons.
