Police have busted a child trafficking mafia from affluent circle of Delhi-NCR, where infant girls were sold to rich families and vulnerable children were trafficked. The raid brings to light the seamy side of a nightmare industry — illegal adoptions where expensively vulnerable children are lamed. The culprit of this operation is still at large so they have launched a manhunt to get him.
This is what the probe found (brought to light by a tip) — a well-oiled network that snatched babies from poor families and sold them to infertile individuals looking to parent.
Unfortunately the victims of these often go from no background to being treated as mere property, their infants being sold.
A senior police official said it was ” a very serious crime which targets the most weak sections”. We are dedicated in recovering all the rescued children and delivering them to secure places of residence for the legal action against those responsible.
Their modus operandi was to search among desperate families and exchange money for newborns. The babies were then sold to well-to-do families in Delhi and NCR who paid a heavy price for instant adoption.
To pop the bubble of this Delhi child trafficking network, private hospitals and clinics had long been helping in alleged transactions for a layer of secrecy.
The inquiry is now working on getting potential circumstantial accomplices identified.
Now, the rescued kids are being taken care of by child welfare officers- They’re medically treated & psychological counseling has also started.
Those efforts are to locate their biological parents and figure out what care options exist for them in the longer term
As investigated in the Delhi child theft cases now are being probed with this ring. Director General of Police, are now broadening their probe and comparing past cases with the present factual details of the incidence.
