India — Bollywood icon Salman Khan is in the headlines again, after reports of a disturbing car bomb threat and possible attack at his home this time in Mumbai.
The police of Mumbai have registered a case after receiving an email about the alleged plot and as soon as they received this tip our investigation has been initiated.
An email, supposedly sent to Khan associate stating that the actor was one among the targets, served as further indication of Operation Sameen scenarios as what took place when Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala was gunned down. The [sic) sender promised vengeance similar to that which happened to Moose Wala, and said a car bomb would be on its way to the Bandra residence of Salman Khan.
Security around the actor has since been increased multiple times after a fresh Salman Khan threat and for the same reason other times. A gang also responsible for the murder of Moose Wala are also tied up with threats against khan.
The cybercrime department of the Mumbai Police are looking into the source of the spam email, and more security measures has been enacted at Khan’s residence. Threat is being taken seriously by the local law enforcement considering that the actor has received threats before and, backed by a history of the gang members being involved in violence.
