Attari-Wagah Border Gate closes in Dispute Over Kashmir:
India Border Gate closes, land border crossing with Pakistan at Attari-Wagah amid a furious backlash in response to deadly Pahalgam terror attack that has now killed 26 and vowed to take stern revenge. The new move is a claudication in relations between the neighboring countries after the deadly incident in Jammu and Kashmir, as announced by the Ministry of External Affairs.
Attari IPC Sealed:
Integrated Check post at Attari in Near Amritsar served as main land link For Commercial / Trade &People Movement between India and Pakistan got sealed. It will mean a halt to all trans-border movement affecting value chains and people-to-people engagements etc. But Ministry later added that those already in India with valid endorsements may leave by the route of Attari till May 1, 2025;

Indus Water Treaty Suspended & Downgrading of Diplomatic Relation:
Apart from shutting cross border travel, Indian government also said suspension of Indus Waters Treaty till Pakistan stops supporting militancy in India’s line of control. India has also downgraded the level of its diplomatic relations with Pakistan sending back Pakistani military advisors based in New Delhi and recalling their own from Islamabad. The SAARC visa scheme for Pakistani citizens has also been quashed, with those presently in the country under this visa permitted 48 hrs to vacate.
Indian Government Alleges Pakistan’s Role in Pahalgam Disaster:
Although Pakistan is yet not proven guilty of having “Infiltrators across the border” for the Pahalgam terror attacks, it is literally all over the media with India’s direct accusation on record. But despite the attack being claimed by a little-known group thought to be local in nature, Indian authorities say attackers receive backing from pro-Indian elements in Pakistan.
