On May 8th, a Helicopter crash near Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand, took the lives of six people. A private copter carrying excursionists descended into the mountainous area near Gangnani.

    Details of the Incident

It crashed around 845 AM IST when the copter, AeroTrans Services Private Limited, was flying from Sahastradhara helipad in Dehri on Dhara to Kharsali helipad, which was just a point of pilgrims towards Yamunotri. There were 7 people on board, including the airman. The chopper slammed into a flume around 200- 250 meters deep underneath the Rishikesh- Gangotri National Highway.

    Casualties and Relief

Officers said that five were killed in the crash and two were seriously injured. Originally, one person was saved from the crash point, and relief brigades, including SDRF and the District administration, were immediately called for a relief operation at the spot. The injured were taken to an original sanitarium, where the injury was treated.

    Disquisition Underway

All the dead haven’t been officially linked, but primary reports reveal 4 passengers from Mumbai and 2 from Andhra Pradesh. The airman has been linked to Capt Robin Singh. The cause of the crash isn’t known yet. The AAIB will conduct a detailed investigation into the incident to ascertain what contributed to the fatal crash of this aircraft remains an air disaster with the body count set to rise soon in inadequately regulated aeromobility. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed his grief over the number of lives lost, stating there would be an inquiry into the crash. But an incident is a clear incarnation of the average doom in an air trip in this delicate Himalayan terrain, especially for tourism and passage purposes.

Five womanish excursionists are dead. The women are Kala Soni (61), Vijaya Reddy (57), Ruchi Aggarwal (Mumbai), Radha Aggarwal (UP), and Vedavati Kumari (Andhra Pradesh), along with the pilot Robin Singh, who also died.

Bhaskar (51) from Andhra Pradesh Sustained injuries.
