Amazon unveiled a new Kindle Paperwhite e-reader in India that is the latest version of the popular device. The updated device makes improvements in the name of reading performance and aesthetics as the many upgrades of this refresh are mostly focused on.
New Features and Design
The Kindle Paperwhite (second edition of the latest, with a larger 7-inch glare-free e-ink display) has bigger and much thinner bezels than the previous generation, which should provide a more immersive reading area. A thin-film transistor (TFT) with oxide for contrast enhancing text and images. Sharp as ever at 300 ppi, The Light comes in warm and you also got dark mode — Hey, nothing changes much and yeah make sense. Amazon also notes that it is their quickest Paperwhite yet when the page flips 25% faster (thanks to an awesome double-core processor) for faster, more snappy reading experience. The new model also has a slimmer and lighter build, which allows you to comfortable hold for longer. IPX8 waterproof rating too so you can read in more places. It’s purpose-built for reading, blocking out distractions like notifications. It also has X-Ray, Word Wise and its own dictionary.

Storage, Battery and Accessibility
Kindle Paperwhite (3rd gen.) has 16GB of built-in storage (twice as much internal storage as in the original model) to hold thousands of e-books. The battery life is a lot better now: Amazon is touting up to 12 weeks of use per charge, and the device now has a nice handy USB-C port for charging Customers in India are given a straight up access to Amazon’s large e-book store of ~ 1.5 crore titles (Hindi, Tamil, Marathi), alongside many more others.
