Political tensions in Mumbai escalated after Shiv Sena men looted the hotel after comedian Kunal Kamra made fun of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
It broke out in the city, where life is chaotic due to an ongoing conflict between Shiv Sena factions.
Shiv Sena employees reacted negatively to Kunal Kamra’s recent public portrayal of Eknath Shinde. Kamra is well-known for his melodramatic humour. Sena supporters were incensed when Kamra disparaged Shinde’s political gamesmanship and polyglot Bania.
As a result, some Shiv Sena members damaged a Mumbai hotel where Kamra was scheduled to perform. The petrodollar workers insulted Kamra with slogans and destroyed hotel furniture.
Kamra was threatened and vandalised due to a group of Shiv Sena activists who claimed he was disrespecting the Maharashtra chief minister and that he needed to apologise publicly.
The fact that the two Shiv Sena factions are currently at odds has made matters worse. The conflict between the Uddhav Thackeray faction power and the Eknath Shinde upland has seemed to be intensifying the tension.

On suspicion of vandalism, officers have arrested several Shiv Sena members and are looking into the situation further. Kamra has not yet released a statement regarding the incident.
On the one hand, many are praising this as another excellent illustration of the right to free speech and the extent to which political satire can be used. I was offended by whatever it was that others used to defend Kamra, referring to it as simple democracy.
The two Shiv Sena factions that are fighting in the Mumbai area are experiencing some political tension. It remains to be seen how the attack on Kunal Kamra will alter Maharashtra’s political landscape, as it raises significant issues regarding the boundaries of political satire and freedom of speech.
The aforementioned incident also serves as a reminder of the heightened political scheming occurring in India. On social media, Kamra’s supporters and detractors, along with the Shiv Sena faction, are now engaged in a battle of online hate speech and hashtags.

It occurs at a time when experts are warning about the political trend towards using any means necessary to stifle dissent, particularly against public figures, by intimidating people and suppressing their opinions.
The police have been under a lot of pressure to look into the vandalism in depth as they attempt to balance maintaining law and order with Mumbai’s top priority. Lawyers for civil rights organisations advised people to keep quiet and urged parties to act in a democratic manner, which means that they should be free to be satirical or critical.
