ChatGPT just got an OpenAI image generation with its cutting edge visual model to day but released it as part of GPT-4 o. In a post on social media, OpenAI’s CEO Sam Altman announced the launch declaring it an “amazing tech/product” that will let users take control of their creativity to new heights. As Altman put it on X:I remember seeing some early outputs from this model, and having a hard time believing they were AI-generated. He explained that, the tool is all over the place in terms of creativeness and OpenAI is still very much dedicated not to producing offensive content without serious limits. “This will result in some incredibly creative and also bad things, but we hope that the tool will only create bad things if you told it to, up to a point,” wrote Altman in a blog post.
GPT-4o, which has long underpinned OpenAI’s AI-powered chatbot, now extends beyond text generation to include images. This feature is now available to subscribers of ChatGPT’s Plus, Pro, Team, and Free tiers, with free users having a limited daily quota. According to OpenAI spokesperson Taya Christianson (via The Verge), these limits mirror those of DALL-E 3, though they may change based on demand
The improved visual fluency from GPT-4o is what should result in more image enhancing outputs of high-quality directly in the ChatGPT like user interface. Such an upgrade can be expected to be immensely useful for the sectors of Delhi such as education design, marketing and content creation by offering users with more potent yet accessible visual communication/ideation tools.
