Delhi Airport increase charges for international business class Passengers from April 16?
New Delhi, March 29, 2025: Effective April 16, 2025, passenger demand fees for International business class travelers flying into or out of Indira Gandhi International Airport [IGIA] Delhi New Increased UDFs have also been introduced by the Airports Economic Regulatory Authority of India (AERA) as a new tariff structure with varied costs for all classes but specifically international paid differentials.
From April 16,2025 :: an amended tariff structure with differential charges for travel class of international passengers will be effective from All Airports in the country virtually as the first airports to get US PHL ( Philadelphia ),MIA(Miami) has decided to differentialize passenger development fees; NB:Economy class international passengers will also fall with departure of ₹650 and arrival touching ₹275.
After voting down a proposal by Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL),the operator for which it represents stakeholders for which it has representation requests a far-bigger 730% markup in airport charges, the AERA said that it considered and consequently decreased it to a much less austere 140% GOZ rate hike with differential UDF for international being central to this.
International travellers fare worse but domestic travellers can rejoice: UDFs for both departing and arriving passengers not altered to ₹129 for domestic as well. The reason that AA stated for keeping current rates is that domestic passengers account for an 80% share of all traffic at airports.
AERA has further rationalized charges for airlines to land and park their planes, as now not only the domestic operations are being charged on the basis of aircraft (wide-body/narrow-body), but also for international ones. For domestic: ₹347 and then International: ₹570 (wide-body aircraft) whereas narrow-body aircraft customers will be levied ₹347 in domestic and international on planes
A ERAE will be valid from 16th April 2025 to 31st March 2029 as per the order of new tariff order Only. This will be a bit expensive for international travel from Delhi especially among Business class, and domestic routes will not see much change in airport charges.
