In an industry obsessed with trends, timelines, and ever-shifting definitions of relevance, Dhruv Kapoor stands out for one reason,he refuses to play by the rules. His rise from India to the global stage has been steady, stubborn, and strikingly authentic and the kind of trajectory that doesn’t happen by accident. During a recent conversation, Dhruv Kapoor unpacked the philosophy behind his world, And in true Dhruv style, he didn’t dress his answers up. He delivered them raw.

Dhruv kapoor : Founder & Creative Designer

“Fashion is never about age.”
That’s the first thing he clarified when asked about his brand’s universal appeal. For Dhruv kapoor, fashion doesn’t belong to one generation or mood. It evolves relentlessly and “a thousand variations every season,” as he puts it. Colours for him are not decorative, they’re emotional markers, a language that builds the brand’s identity and dreamscape. One of his proudest milestones was Milan that etched India’s presence deeper into the global luxury map. When shared “It created history for us,” he said, crediting the moment as a major lift for the team and for Indian fashion storytelling.

But away from the runways, spotlights, and fashion-week frenzy, Kapoor is surprisingly grounded. When asked how he is without the camera, he replied simply “I favour solitude over a lot of parties.” It’s this quietness, this pause between the noise, that fuels his creativity. The conversation took a deeper turn when the discussion shifted to excellence. Dhruv Kapoor has received awards and now finds himself presenting them and a full-circle moment. When asked what excellence meant to you he shared.

“Consistency and authenticity.”
No metaphors, no cliche, Dhruv Kapoor believes people lose their way the moment they imitate others. “If you’re trying to be someone you’re not, the road gets wavy, If you stay true, you stay steady”. His brand resisted by the media to fit into traditional moulds, no bridal wear, no predictable heritage narrative. And yes, it slowed the growth but now it’s “Fantastic,” he says, with the satisfaction of someone who won the long game. On creativity, he didn’t romanticise it. Originality mixed with manifestation works but only if you refuse to quit, “Never give up,” he repeated like a motto he actually lives by.

Interestingly, if Kapoor hadn’t become a designer, he believes he would like to become a yogi. Spirituality is not  a weekend retreat for him  and it’s a practice that keeps his internal frequency undisturbed. “Your focus stays intact,” he said, describing its influence on both personal and professional life. His message to young creators was clear-cut-
“Work hard, keep going , Follow your dream until you reach the destination and you will.”

The topic of manifestation returned when he explained its importance “Dreaming is pointless if it doesn’t take you closer to your goal”. For him, manifestation isn’t magic it’s clarity. When the conversation turned toward AI and Gen Z in fashion, Dhruv Kapoor didn’t sugarcoat his sentence. While he appreciates the technology , he insists it can never replace human emotion or the nostalgia behind handcrafted pieces. If everything becomes mechanical, we lose the human touch, Gen Z, he feels, often overlooks that emotional depth. His advice is Learn from AI, perhaps don’t become it.

Looking ahead,  Dhruv Kapoor keeps his next decade intentionally vague. There are plans, but for now, he wants to focus on garments that act as an aura with wearable emotions. His vision began years ago, back in engineering college, inspired by Disney films and the concept of clones. That spark evolved into a brand determined to reverse stereotypes and embrace mistakes as stepping stones.

Through it all, one truth that defines Dhruv Kapoor’s originality isn’t the easiest road, but it’s the only road he’s willing to walk.
