Bollywood comeback (on Fawad khan): Opposition to the much awaited film “Abir Gulaal” of Bollywood actor Fawad Khan is rising high in the MNS Raj thackerayMaharashtra. The party which has all along stood strong against Pakistani artists working in India has also spoke out against Khan’s involvement in the project and has voiced fears its release will meet with severe response from Maharashtra.
The MNS is being extremely narrow minded and has its long strick policy of not letting Pakistani actors work in Indian film.. It feels that when the situation is one where over-border animosities continue to be a delicate issue, we should not be giving opportunities to artists of Pakistan. This has resulted controversially in a few occurrences and disrupting the past stage.
Fans all over the globe were excited to see Fawad Khan re-emerge in Bollywood with “Abir Gulaal”. Khan, whose fame in India was thanks to “Khoobsurat” and ” Kapoor & Sons” has a really strong following from the audience here. Still, the hold of MNS has darkened its future in terms of release especially in Maharashtra where it is a must see for Bollywood movie.
Reports say the MNS has threatened film producers and distributors not to show “Abir Gulaal” in Maharashtra, claiming action if demanded by not met. The party’s history of militant protests has left a lingering sense of doubt over the release of the film.
