Reports that the Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) will be asked by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA)to probe Gensol Engineering Ltd. and its promoters after allegations of huge financial malpractices.
The move comes just days after an investigation by the MCA into the company, alleging potential funds diversion and other mal-practices.
MCA Investigation Unearths Suspicious Transactions
The ministry had also conducted an initial MCA probe into Gensol after receiving complaints and reported anomalies in financial statements of the company.
Sources told me the probe has come up with evidence of fund diversion by the company and its promoters. The internal governance issues, as well as investor funds — all have turned out to be gravely concerning for Gensol Engineering.
SEBI Order Deepens Burden On Also aggravating the company is that, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) recently passed an order against Gensol Engineering though its entirety is not known. So, if SEBI is lets say not satisfied with their answer, this regulatory step by it will further weigh on the company and more on its management.

Relatives of SFIO probe nears after Corporate Fraud Allegations Surface in India
With the MCA probe and also the SEBI order in recent times, the SFIO probe into Gensol Engineering seems to be coming out of the woodwork. With SFIO, the top agency in India for investigating high profile corporate frauds at its disposal can probe the allegations in deeper manner with all expertise. it mirrors the escalation towards curbing corporate fraud in India, and audit of financial malpractices that will be heard in 2025. SFIO probe would probe into the purported Gensol Engineering fraud with the SFIO inquiry being at more detailed level seeking out financials and incidences of any nature of wrongdoing, if pure along with the culprits.
