In scoring the target of 160, Delhi Capitals started their chase well as they formulated a basic foundation for the innings. Abishek Porel was the key batsman, who played a fair chase with half century (51* off 36 balls). However, the leading man of the chase was KL Rahul who came back to his old ground. An excellent and completely fluent half century of 57 not out which took the DC to good position before eventually declaring at Rajiv Gandhi Ground. DC skipper Axar Patel added valuable fifties with an aggressive unbeaten 34 off 20 (4* sixes)as well helping set plenty runs in later overs.

With a couple of wickets falling, the Delhi Capitals batters were able to stay focused and the chased the target with a margin of 13 balls, making it to 160/2 in 17.5 overs. This much-needed win for the DC pushed them up the IPL 2025 points table. As for the Lucknow Super Giants, a let down result on home soil after their openers failed to put up any winning momentum. The composed and professional run-chase pulled off by Rahul with support from Patel is another testimony of the depth and quality the Delhi Capitals have in batting this time around the IPL 2025.
