The Rajasthan government has awarded engineering company Larsen & Toubro an order worth ₹1,000–2,500 crore to construct and install reservoirs and pipelines in a few cities and villages throughout the state. The Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) of Rajasthan granted important engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) orders to L&T’s Water & Effluent Treatment (WET) vertical.
Phase II, Package-1 of the Rajasthan Rural Water Supply and Fluorosis Mitigation Project is one of the projects that was awarded. It entails installing 5,251 kilometers of transmission and distribution pipelines, constructing 20 pump houses, 132 overhead service reservoirs with a combined capacity of 25 ML, and 38 ground-level reservoirs with a total capacity of 40 ML. In the Jhunjhunu district, the project aims to supply 285 villages as well as the towns of Surajgarh and Udaipurwati with drinkable water.

Additionally, the WET company was awarded a contract to repair and upgrade the water delivery infrastructure in the Ajmer district’s Kekri-Sarwar area. 43 km of transmission pipelines will be supplied and installed as part of this project. According to L&T, it has so far completed 24 comparable water infrastructure projects in Rajasthan.

In comparison to the same period last year, L&T reported a 25% increase in consolidated net profit for the March quarter of the financial year 2024-25 (FY25), reaching ₹5,497 crore. EBITDA increased 13.4% year over year to ₹8,202 crore, while revenue increased 11% to ₹74,392 crore. The operating margin of the business increased marginally from 10.8% in the prior fiscal year to 11%. A final dividend of ₹34 per equity share has been suggested by the board.
Order inflows for the year was ₹3.57 trillion, up 18% from the previous year, driven primarily by energy and infrastructure gains. For the second consecutive year, foreign orders surpassed domestic victories due to the Gulf region’s ongoing capital expenditure activity.
