A Gruesome Crime Uncovered
Saurabh Rajput, a 35-year-old Merchant Navy officer working for a US-based company, returned to Meerut from London in February to celebrate his six-year-old daughter’s birthday. On March 4, tragedy struck. Police say Muskaan and Sahil stabbed Saurabh, chopped his body into 15 pieces, and sealed the remains in a cement-filled drum to hide the crime. The couple then fled to the hills, using Saurabh’s phone to post pictures and throw off suspicion.
The crime came to light when Saurabh’s family, unable to reach him, filed a complaint. After intense questioning, Muskaan and Sahil confessed. Police found the drum in their rented home in Brahmpuri, but the cement was so hard they needed a drill to recover Saurabh’s remains. Both are now in custody, charged with murder and tampering with evidence.

Parents Demand Justice
Muskaan’s parents, Pramod Kumar Rastogi and Kavita Rastogi, are standing firmly with Saurabh’s family. They were the ones who turned their daughter in after she confessed to them. “She told us, ‘Mummy, we killed Saurabh,’” Kavita shared with tears in her eyes. The couple believes Muskaan has lost her right to live.
A Love Story Turned Deadly
Saurabh and Muskaan had a love marriage in 2016, against their families’ wishes. They moved into a rented house after tensions with Saurabh’s parents. In 2019, they had a daughter, but their happiness faded when Saurabh learned of Muskaan’s affair with Sahil, his friend. Despite considering divorce, Saurabh stayed for his daughter and rejoined the Merchant Navy in 2023.

While Saurabh was away, Muskaan’s relationship with Sahil deepened. Her parents say Sahil got her hooked on drugs, which may have played a role in the murder.
