Happy 97th Academy Awards (3/2/2025) fans of Parks and Recreation were delighted to hear the taped, booming voice leading them through the night another nice surprise was that it was none other than Nick Offerman, who plays Ron Swanson on the sitcom.

The face of deadpan humor and classic roles: Offerman narrates the official announcement for a HONEST clip on YouTube on the award show.

The pup that preys in the awards

The Oscars Up until 2025 when they did announce it, it was already going to be Offerman in that role. Recognizable by people who had seen him on screen, viewers knew that familiar voice (so often described as domineering but beguiling) right from the get-go. As The Voice Of God, this position is vital to the broadcast; it tells the audience everything they need for their eyes to be on the presenters, then nominees and winners.

    An Overview of His Career

Nickname: “The Reverend”, Moderator, Actor, and Woodworker Nick Offerman I’ve decided to end all this nonsense and be honest, he was in the surprisingly much more popular Parks and Recreation as Parks Department Director Ron Swanson — a stoic, libertarian (but also has a mustache) — and he immediately went to primetime. His Ron Swanson role garnered him much critical acclaim and a very loyal fan base. Having done Pawnee, Indiana, Offerman has demonstrated his range in other series (The Last of Us on HBO MAX w/Emmy win) and roles (21 Jump Street, Fargo, Civil War.)

The Broadcast and Offerman’s Role in It

Offerman found laughs as the anchorman at the Oscars, viewers seemed to enjoy his quirky style with a little nod to his more comedic side as heard through a “Parks and Recreation” co-star Amy Poehler cameo with the Academy Awards’ script forcing a humorous timing out moment. It brought a new flavor to the viewing.
