    Pahalgam Terror Attack – Death Toll Reaches To 25; Amit Shah Arrives In Srinagar For Urgent Security Assessment

    Pahalgam Terror Attack

    which is renowned as a peaceful tourist town in South Kashmir, has fallen victim to a brutal Pahalgam Terror attack on April 22, 2025, that took the lives of at least 25 defenseless civilians. The attack on tourists at this highly visited destination in Jammu and Kashmir left everyone from both local and visiting populations deeply stunned. Security concerns in the area became more serious after militants reportedly conducted the terrorist assault.

    Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a statement to condemn the assault while calling it a “heinous act.” He also promised justice for those behind the attack. Through a public statement, the Prime Minister conveyed his sincere sympathy to families who lost loved ones before promising the government would implement every measure to stop future attacks.

    “I have spoken with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who is traveling to Srinagar to review the security situation and direct further action,” PM Modi said.

    Union Home Minister Amit Shah made his way to Srinagar during the evening hours to meet with Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. Authorities maintained a state of urgency to investigate the Pahalgam assault as Home Minister Shah made his way to Srinagar for anti-terror operations.

    CM Omar Abdullah declared that the assault dwarfs all previous strings of attacks in recent history. Government sources have verified at least 25 deaths, yet the official death count remains in verification as several others sustained injuries.

    Local Response and Emergency Measures in Pahalgam Terror Attack

    Anantnag Police established a help desk where travelers could receive urgent help after the incident took place. The Police Control Room help desk in Anantnag continues to operate specifically to assist with the investigation by providing information from the public.

    The local medical facilities face extreme difficulties because numerous wounded victims from the attack were transported between Anantnag and Srinagar hospitals. Health Minister Sakina Itoo of Jammu and Kashmir told the media that 13 people hurt by the incident need medical care in state hospitals and multiple patients remain in critical condition.

    Nationwide Condemnation and Solidarity

    Political officials representing different parts of India strongly denounced the Pahalgam Terror Attack assault as they described it as an attack that struck defenseless people. National politics leader Om Birla expressed his sympathy toward the victims through social media but he condemned the attack as “cowardly.” Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat stated that the law will deliver the most severe punishments to those responsible.

    The terrorist assault prompted President Droupadi Murmu to call it a disgrace to humanity. Rahul Gandhi, while leading the opposition force, required the government to assume responsibility for the incident while pushing for effective security protocols to protect civilians and visitors in Jammu and Kashmir.

    The Attack: Timeline of Events

    The attackers  launched their operation in Pahalgam Terror Attack elevated regions, which draw many tourists due to their beautiful surroundings. Reports state that militants launched their attack against a tour group with members from Indian regions across the nation while they were inside Pahalgam Terror Attack. The locals indicated that the targeted tourists were present in the beautiful location of Baisaran during the time of the attack.

    The final casualty numbers will increase, according to reports coming in. Emergency evacuation procedures are active to return victims who come from Odisha, Tamil Nadu and Gujarat and Karnataka to their home states.

    Security Forces Respond

    The Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha verified that Pahalgam Terror Attack operations began following the attack against the peacekeepers. Security officials from the Army, together with local police forces, conduct localization efforts to find the attackers. Military Commander M.V. Suchendra Kumar is completing travel to Srinagar, where he will inspect the current conditions firsthand.

    State Governments Mobilize Support

    The tragedy has received financial backing from states such as Karnataka and Odisha, which provided assistance to bereaved families. Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has ordered police personnel to go to Jammu and Kashmir and recover the body remains of dead victims from the state. The state government stands prepared to give full assistance to families hit by this tragedy, he stated.
