Border fireworks (R) Restricted
Apart from this security step, the DCs of six border districts/Cities in Punjab have made an absolute ban on fireworks. The affected districts are Amritsar, Tarn Taran Sahib and Gurdaspur, Ferozepur, Fazilka, and Pathankot. This moratorium includes all types of fireworks, presumably from weddings, festivals & religious gatherings where they are used. With some explaining of how the bans were precipitated by firefighters fearing a potential outbreak of mass hysteria amidst these very tense times, people lighting fireworks.
Following recent military strikes and border surveillance intensification, these measures are taken. Central and state administrations are working in tandem to keep the citizens safe in border areas with the help of the Central Armed Forces. Schools in some of these districts have also been directed to remain closed for the time being.
