A terrible collision at Lachhiwala toll plaza near Doiwala, Dehradun, claimed two lives this morning. A dumper transporting mining material lost control, which resulted in the truck destroying three cars by pinning one of them between its front and a toll plaza pole.
Fatal Crash Shakes Dehradun
The accident took place on a heavily traveled route between Dehradun and Haridwar, which created alarm among traveling people. Multiple witnesses who were present documented that the dumper moved quickly toward the toll booth before it failed to stop in time.
The collision proved so intense it destroyed one automobile completely, which resulted in two passengers losing their lives.
Immediate Rescue Operation
Superintendent of Police (Rural) Jaya Baluni confirmed the casualties and stated that the accident took place due to a suspected brake failure in the dumper. Police, along with the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), rushed to the scene and initiated a rescue operation. The trapped victims were extricated with great difficulty as the wreckage was tightly wedged between the truck and the toll structure.

Traffic Disruption and Investigation Underway
Traffic congestion affected the Dehradun-Haridwar highway after the accident that connects multiple key cities throughout Uttarakhand. Emergency crews dedicated themselves to removing the wreckage in order to preserve continuous traffic operations.
