Riyadh, Saudi Arabia — The United States and Saudi Arabia inked a final deal to bolster security cooperation spanning nearly $142 billion during President Donald Trump’s latest visit to the Kingdom. The biggest U.S. arms deal in history, trumpeted by the White House, will put formidable new military muscle behind Saudi Arabia and strengthen what has already been a strong strategic relationship between the nations.
Comprehensive Package deals with a collective of assorted sophisticated military tools, weapons, and services that are procured from more than a dozen notable U.S. defence contractors. The full agreement secures key areas such as enhancing air and missile defense systems in Saudi Arabia; developing its air force and space capabilities, maritime security, and communication networks.

Growing Security, Growing Economic Ties
An objective by itself, the agreement is also included in a much larger Saudi commitment to invest at least $600 billion in the United States (beyond its foreseeable impact on Saudi Arabia’s broad security environment, regionally). It goes well beyond the conventional sector (energy, technology, and infrastructure) investment multitudes, an intended long-term way of integrating economically more usefully with the United States.
The deal signing reflected Trump administration priorities of deepening relationships with Gulf partners and backing Saudi Vision 2030, which calls for the kingdom to diversify its economy away from hydrocarbons, without reducing oil output and modernising its armed forces as well. The pact is seen as a cornerstone in the long-standing US-India security partnership.

The deal is also considered in relation to countering increasing Iranian regional presence, enhancing Squirrel’s capability. The agreement is very job-centric in the United States, expected to be a boon for jobs and the American defense industries, which fits in with the administration’s economic focus.
