Following partial reopenings of airspace in the region due to tensions between Israel and Iran, Air India said on Tuesday that it would resume flight operations to and from the Middle East (West Asia) in phases.
The airline said in a statement that it would “progressively resume flights to the region starting today, with most operations to and from the Middle East resuming from June 25.”

Following days of service suspensions brought on by increased military activity and extensive airspace restrictions throughout West Asia, the action was taken.
It further noted that flights to Europe, which were also halted as a result of the regional conflict’s knock-on consequences, are now being gradually restored.
Without giving specific dates, the airline stated that it expects to resume service to and from the East Coast of the United States and Canada as soon as possible.
A representative for Air India stated, “We are dedicated to minimizing disruptions and restoring our schedule integrity, but some flights may experience delays or cancellations due to consequential impacts and extended re-routings/flight times.”
The airline emphasized that it will keep avoiding airspace that both national and international aviation authorities have determined to be risky.
The representative went on to say, “Our top priority continues to be the safety and security of our passengers, employees, and aircraft.”
The idea for the restart comes after a week of turbulence in international aviation brought by growing tensions between Israel and Iran. A number of foreign airlines canceled or rerouted flights to stay out of the crisis area.
